Karta Polaka — who can apply
- You declare that you belong to the Polish nation and speak at least basic Polish
- You know and cultivate Polish traditions and customs
- At least one parent or grandparent, or two great-grandparents, were of Polish nationality — or you have been active in a Polish or Polonia organisation for at least 3 years

Questions
Do I need Polish for a residence permit?
Not for temporary or permanent residence. B1 is required for EU long-term resident status and for citizenship.
How long does B1 preparation take?
It depends on your level. From a solid B1 — a few weeks of format practice; from A2 — several months.
Do you help with documents?
We prepare the language part. Documents and appointments are handled by the consulate or voivodeship office.
How much does the B1 exam cost?
Up to 150 € for adults — each exam centre sets its own price — plus 20 € for the certificate. You pay the centre: we prepare you for the exam but do not register you for it.
What does the B1 exam consist of?
Listening, reading, grammar and writing — a written part of up to 190 minutes on one day — followed by the oral part. To pass, you need at least 50% in every module.
What level of Polish does the Karta Polaka need?
The law speaks of basic Polish. In practice you need to hold a conversation about yourself, your family and Polish traditions with confidence.
Can I prepare in a group?
Yes. A Karta Polaka mini-group costs 439 zł per month (≈ 55 zł per lesson); the B1 group course is 64 lessons over ≈ 7.5 months, at the same monthly price. Private lessons are 99 zł for 50 minutes.
